Hiii.
It’s Yinmei here!
I am an illustrator and an art psychotherapy trainee based in Edinburgh.
On this site, you’ll find stories about Sylvan, the little cat-lamb, and the world she inhabits. Sylvan is a character I created who lives in my art world alongside her family and friends. Through illustrations, comics, and picture-book stories, I invite you to explore their little world and the stories within it. I hope you enjoy your time here. :)
I am currently completing an MSc in Art Psychotherapy at Queen Margaret University, an HCPC-accredited programme. Alongside my studies, I have facilitated creative workshops and art sessions with NHS patients and community organisations, supporting emotional expression, wellbeing, and trauma-informed practice.
I graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2024 with a background in illustration. My practice moves between a wide range of materials and formats, from oil pastels, acrylics, and mineral pigments to single illustrations, short comics, and picture-book series. I enjoy exploring how different materials and forms can hold different feelings, memories, and stories, allowing me to express and understand my inner world in multidimensional ways.
