Ginkgo

Ginkgo is Sylvan’s mother.

In an ancient ginkgo forest,  two little cats with ginkgo leaves, Happiness and Kindness,  wished to the gods for a new life to come into the world.  And so, the ancient ginkgo tree bore a fruit, and Ginkgo was born from it.

She slowly grew up in this beautiful forest. One day, she too made a wish to the ginkgo tree. A single leaf drifted down from the tree and transformed into her child, Little Cat-Lamb Sylvan.

But as Sylvan was falling from the tree, a sudden gust of wind carried her far, far away…

Ginkgo never stopped searching for Sylvan. At the same time, she built high walls of amethyst around her world, protecting the precious world she held dear.







Hi, I am Yinmei!

I am an illustrator and an art psychotherapy trainee based in Edinburgh.

On this site, you can see my illustrations and my journey as an art therapist trainee. You’ll also find stories about Sylvan, the little cat-lamb, and the world she inhabits. Sylvan is a character I created who lives in my art world alongside her family and friends.
